Brainstorm Integrated Marketing (Brainstorm) are a boutique, full-service, strategic marketing company who offer ‘big company’ experience without the big company fees. Their unique approach was essential in developing a full rebranding strategy for South African fruit logistics company GoGlobal Group (GoGlobal). Brainstorm has worked with GoGlobal (formerly GoReefers) since the early days of the company. Having fared extremely well under Brainstorm’s initial messaging of “It’s the way we think that makes us the best”, GoGlobal needed a brand refresh to align their disparate set of brands, and emphasise their market leading history of innovation. The challenge for Brainstorm was to produce a repositioning strategy to clarify GoGlobal’s status in the marketplace, deepen their customer engagement and bring successful brand cohesion to their multiple business divisions. The challenge for GoGlobal, and ultimately the success of the project, was to embrace a complete overhaul and commit to the time and resources required to implement the changes. The incredible launch event of the new brand, GoGlobal, left no doubt that the ‘go in or go home’ attitude proposed by Brainstorm had been fully adopted and that the GoGlobal brand was the perfect vehicle to take this logistics business forward on the next leg of their journey.
How one county’s local campaigners changed the narrative reported by the media after forming a mutual to take over management of local library services. The future for Suffolk’s libraries looked bleak in 2011 when Suffolk County Council’s review indicated 29 out of 44 libraries might close to meet Government budget cuts. The answer emerged by engaging local campaigners, who protested against library closures, to keep the libraries open. Nearly 40,000 people across Suffolk replied, inspiring the creation of a new body to manage and deliver library services. In 2012 Suffolk Libraries Industrial and Provident Society (‘Suffolk Libraries’ or ‘IPS’) was formed, and by August, the whole service transferred into its care.
Since forming a mutual body to take over delivery of library services from the county council, Suffolk Libraries has developed a digital marketing strategy to increase interaction with customers outside the library walls. They created a dedicated web team, linking closely with Suffolk Libraries’ Communications and Customer Services teams, to respond to users’ online needs. The first challenge after transferring the service was to launch its own website.
TellTrail is a unique social media platform based on privacy. With $21 billion lost to identity fraud  and 33% of young people exposed to unwanted sexual comments online , Founder Tony Amey decided to set up a social network built on privacy that users can trust, understand and control. Creating a social networking site with complex privacy provisions is a tough challenge. Tony worked with several developers on early versions of the product without success. The team who took the product to market in 2015 comprised five freelance developers, including Kye Etherton. Kye implemented the complex privacy requirements, and ran the robust testing processes crucial to delivering a product that lives up to its privacy claims. TellTrail.com launched to beta in 2015, and IOS and Android apps are currently in development.
